Funny how all the "Haters" leave there shitty remarks but I'm sure the moment they were "able" to buy one and experience the amazing quality they would swallow there words in a hurry.

@MegaSkullCapable ''DESCRIPTION
904L is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content. The grade is intended for use under severe corrosive conditions. It has been application proved over many years and was originally developed to resist corrosion in dilute sulfuric acid. It is standardized and approved for pressure vessel use in several countries''

What this video shows me is that the Rolex appears to be built by soulless machines in gross lots, just like a $50 Seiko. So other than slick commercials, what am I paying for exactly?

@drapiher That's it, it's so much like the Animatrix - 2nd Renaissance, my favorite one of them all! I won't be able not to think of it without thinking of all the snobby, over compensated, decedent people wearing their Rolex's and taking credit for their workmanship at the robot's expense!

@jasonafrench Ok, but what are you seeing about with the gun other than it's not picking up the 904L, is it saying something else, like 316 or something?

I love Rolex.... but this is definitely a marketing gimmick. The specs for 904L show that it's not stronger or more scratch resistant than standard 316L. The only thing 904L does is protect from acid corrosion - how often do you wear your Rolex around your sulfuric acid bath? It IS, however, more expensive, due to the nickel and molybdenum content. This is a smart way to increase the monetary value of the watch but not its functionality.
Inconel has too much nickel, allegic people wouldn't be able to wear it xD

This video is, from an engineering standpoint, complete bullshit. 904L is only slightly above 316L in corrosion resistance, and its yield strength is comparable to ordinary construction steel (220MPa). If they wanted to use 'precious' steel, why not go for Super Duplex, or even skip the steel entirely and try Inconel?
