Went for a walk on Sunday, and took some shots of the empty buildings sitting at the site that once was CFB Chilliwack. Now owned by the Canadian Land Company, many of these are slated to be part of the residential project known as Garrison Crossing. Some of these buildings may be torn down.

MUSIC IS *NOT* by Jack Johnson. Thanks, YouTube.

  • wish they would re open this base so i could stay in bc and be in the cf

  • I graduated CFOCS in '85.

Wow looking at this sure brought back some memories.

  • i used to live on that base as a kid! years ago! this vid brings back memories!

  • CFB Chilliwack/ASU Chilliwack have been some of my best memories as a cadet so far. The military museum in the old QM's building and training Area C have been my favorite FTX spots.

  • @withinspace i think about it often too. i used to live right across from the IGA from 1991 to 1996, when you faced it, their was a Chain link fence to your left. behind that was coquitlam street. i lived in the White/creme colored duplex on the side facing the IGA. Their was also a Dairy queen build there and later a macdolands "after i moved" I also remember a guardian drugs across the road from the IGA and a Fishthing/tackle store.

One day i`d like to return there. even if it changed.

  • @AcanLord I used to go to twin rinks as a kid once in a while. I still make it a point to drive around the area whenever I go back to visit my Dad. I'm not sure when you were there last but it has changed so much. I still think about Sardis/Vedder crossing everyday. In a way I'm glad I left but I can't believe how much I miss it.

  • @withinspace i grew up there too. its kinda sad to see the area all boarded up like a ghost town. do you remember the Twin Rinks and watson elementary? XD

  • This is really awesome. I grew up in this area and watching this reminds me of how much I miss home.

  • where's the sound?!?!?!
