Minecraft Cast Away #10 - The Diamonds Broke My Fall

Welcome back to Minecraft 1.0.0 with a new series I've dubbed Minecraft Cast Away! I've started a brand new world with the seed "292202" which, along with being the official distance traveled in my Far Lands or Bust world, is a Minecraft 1.0.0 seed that spawns you in the middle of an ocean without a single tree.

I've decided on a few rules for Cast Away to keep things interesting:
1) Play on HARD difficulty setting!
2) No setting new spawn points! I can sleep, but have to break the bed immediately after. This way, if I die, I am sent all the way back to the original spawn point on the deserted island. Quite a setback!

It probably would have been good to bring a compass and your filled out map. A compass so you could find your way back to your spawn island and start over if you got really lost; the map so you could look at it and see yourself on it if you were getting close or decided your home island didn't "look familiar". ;)

You should get a map mod. They sometimes have waypoints you can set for things like villages, ravines or other points of interest.
