CNN's Paul Begala defended MovOn.org's right to run an ad criticizing his upcoming testimony to Congress about the troop "Surge" in Iraq. Paul explained that the General inserted himself into the political forum by writing a glowing op-ed about the Iraq war right before the '04 election.

  • Hello? Swiftboat Veterans for Truth were accusing Kerry of self-inflicting wounds for medals, and getting plenty of coverage for their outlandish claims.

People are dying now, and more will die because of Petraeus's testimony. Everyone should have the balls to scrutinize his motives, not just member-supported non-governmental organizations like MoveOn.

How about a little mainstream coverage of his past glowing statements about Iraq?

  • Well argued.

Not only did the Democratic party not have anything to do with the ad, except maybe the person who wrote it was liberal... but certainly it wasn't a production of the party itself. Either way, I think the ad was perfectly legitimate. Continue reading after the title and you might be surprised at what you find.

  • That ad was great, nothing wrong with it.
