  • Fredrickson's chippy. ( I think )

  • Loved it , could watch stuff like it all night . I remember all of it, The station tower ,Co-op, the YM disco, meeting my nana at the bingo and walking home to Woodstone tce , after calling in to the chippy next to the bingo ofcourse , (name????? )oh the memories, THANK YOU for sharing

ps I should know the name of the chippy as my aunty Crissie worked there for years, (help)

  • @LambtonD

Well unfortunately, we'll never know why he didn't take the camera down Lambton Lane, because Mr Sharples died quite a few years back. But hopefully you got some good shots of D Pit and the Cokeworks that you can post - or could you not be bothered?

  • Is it just me or did everyone walk a lot slower then...? :p

  • Boring boring boring. What an opportunity to get shots of Lambton Colliery and Cokeworks missed. What was wrong, could he not be bothered to get his backside down there ? there was more to Fence Houses than just the bloody front street.

  • that's a cracking video .not much different really .the railway crossing building was a good one until some git set fire to it , they should get that line running again and have the metro use it

  • I heard they pulled the YMCA down, best disco around

  • Superb footage...

I can remember shelter outside the old Bingo hall, before it was an old folks retirement home,

And the old Co - op, they had a bank up stairs and a section that sold wool, buttons and thread.. A long time before bajgie and the B & S...

And I remember waiting for the trains to cross on my way upto school, Dubmire, loved the signal box...

    Happy (ier) days

  • thanks for posting this footage brought back some great memories
