President Obama establishes The National Commission On Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, headed by Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles, to help the Nations long-term fiscal picture and guide responsible Federal spending. February 18, 2010.
1 TERM PRESIDENT, WE ALL INCLUDING ME GAVE HIM A CHANCE, I WAS PRAYING THAT HE WOULD TURN THIS WORLD AROUND, INSTEAD CREATED MORE DEBT THEN BUSH IN ONLY 3 YEARS, WHEN HE TALKED BAD ABOUT BUSH, HE'D SAY "WE CAN DO BETTER" YEAH LIKE ADDING ANOTHER 4 TRILLION TO THE DEBT, THANKS OBAMA, BUSH WASNT BAD AFTER SEEING OBAMA IN OFFICE, thanks bush you did work harder then america and I thought, god bless you bush for the hell you had to deal with, for someone to knock it down and then do much worse!
@adminwrh Obama wanted the republicans to get out of the way.I remember that speach.Bush did wrong & but Obama multipied them. He is nothing but a con man. I will alway remember him overseas apoglizing for the USA . He did nothing to make things better only worse. His friends and union buddies are behind what is happening in the middle east. Now they want us to arm up rising when they don't know who they are. Are we giving weapons to same people who are killing our military.
SIMPSON HAS BEEN CONTINUOUSLY VOCAL IN HIS CONTEMPT FOR SSA, AND EXPLICIT IN HIS INTENTION TO DEFAULT ON ALL OBLIGATIONS OWED TO THE SSA TRUST FUND BY THIS GOVERNMENT...WALL STREET RAIDS AND WALKS...BUT THE "STRONG REPUBLICAN" WILL INSIST THAT PLUTOCRATS BE HELD ALOOF FROM ANY AND ALL TAXES..AND THE CONSEQUENCES OF HIS "TOUGH CHOICES" WILL DEVOLVE UPON THOSE WHO ARE LEAST ABLE TO SUSTAIN THEM...AND BARACK NOW RETREATS INTO A CITADEL OF SILENCE...SIMPSON HAS TO GO.
The same man the quadrupled the deficit is now preaching fiscal responsibility. I think after NASA's done counseling muslims. They should calculate how large this man's ego is.
@adminwrh it is foolish to not realize that the president sets the tone for all of Washington, i.e. how hard the congress-people push for things and what they push for (Obama didn't back them up for the public option so it was lost, he didn't push for a lot of things he could have encouraged the congress and senate to do).
The congress pretty much followed the Bush agenda during his presidency. Even under a democratic house the congress and senate backed up many, many Bush ideas.
@ShaithMaster - How many years? 4? 8? How about taking it back to the death of fiscal constraint when we went off the gold standard in 1972? The entitlement culture that gained momentum in the 60's? The massive growth of the federal government in the 1930's ? This shit has been a long time coming and it's simplistic to blame any one president or put words in the mouth of a talk show host we've never listened to.
@MrTabby5000 I dislike the philosophies of Pinko Barry as much as the next guy, but you birthers really need to give that one up. Even if he was born in Kenya, his mother was a US citizen that met the residency requirements for Barack to be a natural born ciitizen. I'm constantly amazed that no one has looked that up.
@Staticnz - Spoken like a true partisan. Everyone loves to blame the president as one name is easier on the brain than the 541 Congressmen and 100 Senators that actually control the purse strings. Bush pushed some foolish policies, but was only a cog in the government machine. Most would be hard pressed to specify WHICH policies Bush promoted, which policies caused the damage and which branch of the government promoted those policies. It's a shame we reduce our complex society to scapegoating.
@groundhog2008, I dont see how we can keep spending. I think Obama is as liberal as they come and he is saying we need to control our spending. Think of it like this, if we keep polluting and detroying the earth then there will be no earth left for us to live in. If we keep spending and creating a large dept there will be no money left to pay it back and are economy will not be bad it will be gone. We will be a third world country instead of an economic power. We will become Russia in the 90s.
