This was a pilot for a proposed anthology story of eerie tales. David McCallum played a mad scientist who can manipulate time - as well as life and death. The pilot version of this episode had a different ending in which the guest star Vera Miles guns down McCallum who, in THE OUTER LIMITS episode escapes in his machine.
@silvereagle2061 Actually OL came first. This episode was the pilot for a series to have been titled THE UNKNOWN, a more supernatural/suspense oriented show than the science-fiction OUTER LIMITS. ABC turned down the series, and the music Dominic Frontiere composed for THE UNKNOWN, as well as the rip-through credits conceived by Wayne Fitzgerald (not used in the aired version here) were reprised for THE INVADERS three years later.

Funny how in the late 70s McCallum will star in series called "Sapphire and Steel" about Time Travelers.

This is almost like "Eraserhead". WTF did I just watch? Here is the blurb from IMDb: Two female friends poison a sadistic blackmailer, then while fleeing happen upon an isolated house containing a time machine. Kasha his lover, & Leonora the daughter of the blackmail target, fight to bury him before the idealistic inventor Tone is able to re-animate the murdered man, by tilting him back into the past.

09-24-2011 ; Laboratory specialists/engineers have reportedly "time-reversed" measured quantities of free space , encumbering said space with a form of shield . This is specificaly why we experiment upon postulancies/calculations , resultant on success rather than repeated failure . This science fiction program drequently caught my viewing , in my elementry schol years . I went on to graduate high-school & trade -sorry about the blog.
