Idea:

Have the sky look black and put lots of stars in it. Add a moon to the sky ad have the white moonlight reflect off the whale and the water.

I'd seriously recommend you to try this out.

great stuff! im working on something similar, ya mind telling me if you used any of the channels of the mesh particles, like speed or pressure, to make the material more convincing?
