I heard Mr. Hoffman had mentioned that he was in the movie to Adam and Adam said he wanted to try out, so then Robert said to send him an audition video. :)

and i heard that in one of those interview at the premiere that Adam said Robert called him about auditioning for Step Up 2.

As for Adam Sevani,
he doesn't necessarily mean he saw his youtube account, jon could have meant he saw a music video with Adam in. Because he has danced in some music videos, such as "Church" by T-Pain.
