Belton drops heartbreaker to Bryan
BELTON - The Belton Lady Tigers nearly pulled off a dramatic comeback, falling to Bryan 25-19, 25-18, 20-25, 23-25, 16-14 on Friday at Tiger Gym.
"Overall, the energy and the focus wasn't there in the first two games for us," second-year Belton coach Justeen Patton said. "Once we decided to play, it was a fun match to watch. Game 3, 4 and 5 we wanted it and it showed on the court."
Grace Weaver had 28 kills and 23 digs, Stephanie Stryker had a season-high nine blocks and Brooke Malcik had 37 assists for the Lady Tigers (7-20, 1-2 District 12-5A).
"It was a tough loss at the end," Patton said. "The girls wanted it bad but hopefully they have learned their lesson of showing up ready to play from the start."
