  • I used to live in Philly and I remember these songs and that live rally. Billy West did his own parody called "Baldy She Dissed You" (not sure what song it was based on) and Fred parodied The Beatles' "She's Leaving Home" with "She's Taking Your Home". Unfortunately that guy Bob had to be in court the day of the rally so he couldn't do his song. Howard did it for him. Howard was vicious to DiBella, but damn, it was also funny. Thanks for the post cpuss!!!

  • Maybe I have a warped sense of humor, but I found Bob's rendition of 2001 one of the most creative and funnest bits ever on the Show. Thanks for the feedback.

  • howard stern rocks babay

  • Oh my - I'm sitting here literally crying, my head hurts, I think I broke a rib.... I have not heard these two songs since the original air date - and thought I'd never hear them again as my tape is lost somewhere.. Do you happen to have the other songs leading up to the winners?

Thank you - thank you - thank you... for the laugh, and the fantastic memory jog... it was as good as I remembered it.

    :)

    Oh that was me ;)~

    F. Robin !

  • Why did Howard hate DiBella so much?

  • I agree! His rendition still makes me laugh 17 years later.

I like how Bob didn't dub himself over a recording over of Strauss' "Also Sprach Zarathrusta" or anything. He just put a tape recorder next to his TV, turned the volume up for the opening scene of "2001" and sang away.

I remember Howard said he loved Bob's parody so much that he just wanted to drive around Philly in a van with speakers on top playing this over and over.
