Olmsted Hall 1086 A.D. - Essex County UK

First recording of the family name "Olmsted," (Stead of Elms) is found in William the Conqueror's Domesday book, a survey of England completed in 1086. My father found out about this hall, or house, when reading an out-of-print travelogue book by Frederick Law Olmsted (distant cousin). I visited in 2006. This is what went down.
