Julz was accompanying Sean Ikin (Palmy Cafe 8th Jan. 2012)& invited me to do a song.
Tried Robert Johnson's most famous tune.As usual, she was on guitar, vocals, foot percussion & sound mixing.

  • Great vocals! Love the vibe of the spot you're playing in. It looks like your talent spilled over to your kin. A big warm hello from Miami. Rock on Greg!

  • @Escagedo3rd Thanks for such nice remarks,Eloy.Julz is in Louisiana,so its back to open mic nights, again,if I want to 'rock on'. Wife (camera) doesn't go (rough at jam night). The vibe at this gig suited her fine.Great to hear from you. All the best,Greg.

  • Good blues my friend. Made me feel good watchin and listnun!

  • @harpdude61 Hi harpdude.Many thanks. Felt good,reading your comment,my friend.

    All the best,Greg.

  • Nice one Greg. Julz is certainly kept busy...lol. Haven't seen that type of percussion before. Looks simple but effective.

    Cheers, Dave ;-))

  • @sproutcentral Hi Dave. Julz asked if I was actually deaf, because of my 'ignoring' volume change between harp & vocals. I'm learning : will ask for mic. stand.in future. The young-uns ARE taking to cajon percussion. (I think),so,I'm glad you saw one, here.

    All the best,Greg.

  • Very good song... congratulations my friend... long live blues...

    Rodvarella.

  • Wow this is really great. Thank you for sharing

  • @guruofpiano HI G. On behalf of Julz : Thank you,sir.

  • @guruofpiano Hi G. I have been following live music for years now. I am completely 'out of touch' with the hit parade (if such a thing still exists) & usually hear 'covers' of new famous tunes, before I ever hear the originals. Thanks so much for very nice comment.

    All the best,Greg.

  • @A297MAN104 Thanks for saying that,Dave. All the best,Greg.

  • @harmonicadave Many thanks,Dave.I went to an open mic. night the other week & there were two" tube amp / delay/ reverb 'Chicago sound' harp players" already there. I thought of you & wished I knew as much about harp 'sound' (amplified). I 'got away ' with slide/rack harp 'act'.(Didn't want to ask other guys for a go on their 'set-ups'.)Cheers,Greg.

  • Oh and well done to your daughter also, everything was Great and a nice ending too!!

  • Excellent!! my friend, Great atmosphere!!! Well done all round. You can't beat live music :)

I enjoyed your solo and singing very much also. Thumbs up!!

  • Great stuff.....Love the music and Video.....Regards....Dave

  • Love this Xroads Greg, ha and your daughter to.... well done Harmonicadave

  • @blinddrunkal Hi Alan. You did comment on our video "House party Harmonica:,which was very similar, though I used Rollin & Tumblin lyrics (mainly),on that one.

Thanks for this new comment & ,again, for the other one. All the best,Greg.

  • @1wiesehoefer1 Thanks,Friedel. This song was a most successful blues recording for Cream (Eric Clapton). I will always love their version. Now,I think Robert Johnson style is 'the greatest' 'Crossroads",but nobody plays it that way.I tried to use the harmonica 'riffs' that Jack Bruce(Cream) used on "Rollin' & Tumblin'. All the best,Greg.

  • @harproli Thanks,Roli. Happy here,too,after seeing your cool comment. All the best,Greg.

  • @AkustikBluesGitarre Many thanks,Erkan.I feel better 'showing' a video, with my daughter on guitar,to you, than when I am on guitar. You are a very good player & so is Julz. Regards.

  • @fngrpkn06 Great to hear that,Randy. Many thanks,friend. All the best,Greg.

  • @klv400 Thanks for 'finding' our video & for great comment,Dennis. All the best,Greg.

  • Wonderful stuff from the pair of you - I thought I'd already commented but must have got carried away yesterday!

  • Hi greg fantastic version from crossroads, may be crossroads is my favourite blues song at all, for me the absolut highlight in 5 concerts of clapton was always crossroads and layla, best version i heard in his last concert in berlin with winwood, in youtube is a great version from clapton with winwood and derek trucks, best regards from germany, friedel ************************

  • @Gregparkerblues I once played with my band support of Dr.Feelgood (I´m sure you know them). He changed the harp with every song, not only because of the key of the tune, haha, he did the harp in a glass of ... surely not water ( till the next song started.) Maybe those harps didn´t have a long life but it seems they sounded/tasted better after the bath;-)
