From the 1987 Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium, attended by Her Majesty The Queen. Introduced by Danny La Rue, Dolores Gray sings "I'm Still Here" from the show Follies she was appearing in. The tempo has not been tampered with as this is how she performed it.

  • Sondheim personally courted Dolores Gray out of retirement to do this show, so I doubt he was terribly disappointed by this performance. She is mistress of the words, the music, the feelings, and the experience behind this song. This performance has it all -- sometimes a performance is a matter of taste, but in this case there can be no denial. The naysayers obviously get their musical apotheoses out of vending machines!

  • What a great performance of this classic number!

  • A fantastic performance !! Great presence on the stage !!!

  • She wa one of the sweetest and most talented and unrated stars off our time! Only three films at the greatest studio at it's musical downfall.Too bad she came in at i; downfall, just think what she could have done at MGM in the thirties and the forties if she was there then? What remains is are just a hint of what talent she had, This was a lady who could handle comedy with the best of them. We who knew her miss her greatly!.Thanks for posting this!
