I just watched The Shining last night . . . and I was thinking a pedal-powered snowcat would be sweet! The music reminds me of The Shining too . . .

It won't work. I live with snow, and you can't pedal tracks, too much energy used by bending rubber tracks, especially when its cold!

I understand there's an invention called a "bicycle" which can be ridden in the winter.

so your design requires 2 people to operate it, I would put in a differential for the tracks and have the ski do the steering, like an old WW2 german halftrack motorcycle.

All this guys designs are flawed. They look pretty but none of the vehicles are anywhere near practical. He's good at rendering 3d models though.

mayb instead of having srait side ways tracks that would accumulate nsow quickly they would be slightly cut inward for better traction and possibly less snow pick up

i'd like to see someone pedal that blasted thing. Do you know how much leg power you would need to move that thing a centimeter on dry land. Nevermind through snow...

i can draw pictures to! pedal powered car, plane helicopter you name it but if you build it and can pedal it in snow fuckin fantastic!

Nice concept i really liked it but do you have think about the fact that LOTS of power is needed to drive a track system, even more drive it trough snow i hope u got Awsome legs or maybe a 4 man system? ;-) but i like the concept maybe a bit high it will tens to drop on side on unstable terrain but keep work on it im sure u can make it real!
