  • I am a conservative Atheist, and I have given up on the republicans. There are no real conservatives left in the party. I cannot line up with democrats for social reasons and for economic reasons. Also, don't fool yourself Democrats are barley better on the religious freedom front. Unfortunately, both parties are terrible.

  • @TheSultan03 Social issues? So you're against equality?

  • @cmfic36 Really?! You are that blind to the real politics of the democrats? You make me sad.

  • @TheSultan03 Who fought for DADT repeal? Who has been trying to stop the discriminating bills in AZ? Who's been fighting for marriage equality? It certainly isn't the GOP. Both parties are bad, but to say they are equally bad is beyond dishonest.

  • I would vote for Ron Paul if given the chance, strictly because of his views toward foreign policy, the Federal Reserve, war, and government encroachment on the personal freedoms of Americans (as is the case with recreational drug use, TSA abuse, the Patriot Act, etc.). I disagree with him on religious issues, but those precedents have largely already been set by the U.S. Supreme Court, so I'm not especially worried.

6:34 Where did you get that one from, your Elitist Hack Douchebag Joke App?

  • @yermomsboxx That's exactly where I got it from. You caught me.

  • I'm not only Republican, I'm rabidly conservative.

I also happen to be an atheist.

I won't vote for or against somebody based on their religion(or lack thereof) That's bigotry, and I'm above that.

I don't mind that the GOP is "Christian-based" because, quite frankly, our laws and our country are Christian based, and even though I think that Christian theological views are hogwash, their moral and ethical codes are quite good, and you can believe in those and not believe in God.

  • The only one worth voting for is Ron Paul.

  • A better question is why do so many atheists who believe natural selection explains life in its wonderous diversity and complexity not think the same process can improve economies

  • Also assuming that free market economics only benefits billionares is beyond stupid. In reality a more prosperous economy benefits everyone on all income levels. Attempts to even out wealth and centrally plan economies never accomplish anything except spreading poverty. Free markets work just like biological natural selection works. Competition leads to progressive improvements. Central planning is nothing more then market creationism

Im a proud atheist libertarian and you miss so many points I don't even know where to start. Atheist Republicans vote Republican because we believe limited government is the best way to assure jobs and prosperity. Obama's radical belief in big government make him a danger to this countries long term survival. We need a President willing to cut the budget by over a trillion dollars every year. Not that I know any Republican will either I just know Obama won't

  • @IronicAtheist I pay attention. I'm somewhat of a C-Span nerd too. I try to get people to think critically about their choice. I also try to remain unbiased in my candidate preference as much as possible when talking with people about politics (Unless that talk is about a specific candidate of course). I know it's an uphill battle for now, but if you want to fix something you have to start somewhere.

  • @FinalLugiaGuardian Well I agree with what you are saying but remember, with politics they always have a good idea, but ALL politicians in america are at least corrupt and it is probably because of the voters lack of care to pay attention actually >.>

  • @IronicAtheist I have no problem with marijuana being legalized. As of now my own personal opinion is that the federal government should leave it to each state to regulate itself. If someone wants to smoke it I don't much care as long as they are not next to me.

On taxes, Jon Huntsman seems to have a good idea. Make the tax code more competitive by phasing out the loopholes that companies like GE use to pay such a low percentage. That makes the tax code more in line with small business success.

  • @FinalLugiaGuardian Yes, because tax cuts for the rich have worked out quite well in american history....[sarcasm]

Also marijuana has no LOGICAL argument against it, NONE. Unhealthy? to whom? the user? well it is wrong to force health on someone against their own consent... unless they harm someone else but that does not happen with weed. It does with alcohol though, same with it being unhealthy. Besides unless it is laced with something else, weed is not unhealthy -_-
