No, not like Fatal Frame. But have you played it? If you have you will see what I mean about there be an unexplained element of dreaming to it. All the game's difficulties are in dream states(daydream, nightmare, etc), the character's mouths never ever move(I can't imagine that this was laziness on the part of the programmers, do you? It seems intentional). And the characters keep talking about dreaming caterpillars, and past dreams, etc. There is some dreaming going on here...

Yes, you can run, but its not a good idea usually. If you get startled or hit while running you will take more "damage" making it longer to recover and avoid dying.
