My first show.. ever. I didnt even really expect to place at all. But fifth out of seven. Even with his little refusal type thing.
He was scared to death of some of those jumps. :/ horse eating trees, and solid things that are going to hit him.
I know my mistakes, not enough leg to much rein..
He kinda felt off before the show, but my trainers said to go ahead and give it a try. So we did... Needless to say, i was crying when i went into the arena, i didnt want to be there at all. But i love my support group.(: Barb, Sheila, Caroline, Lisa. And Martha showed up like.. 4 hours later. Hah.
Anyway, the first line we did.. i knew that would be a problem jump, he hates jumps with stuff under them. I knew what he was going to do. So yeah, i popped him a couple times, he leaped it. I landed on his neck. Called him a naughty name and continued with the course. I have no idea how i got my flying changes. I didnt ask for them. But when he's nervous and worked up, he's really soft so that might be it. In no way at all is Gunnar a Hunter. He's an Eventer, which means Dressage. So no, he's way not flat enough for this.
I pulled him from the rest of the show. He was definately off. So about 120$ wasted. We think we over worked him when we brought him over to White Aspen for a jumping day.
I'm going to kick butt at Bozeman. :p
*My sister videod this. Annd that would be my mom add-libbing when he didnt go over the fence.
**This entire thing stressed me out. Bad week all around. I'm glad its over.
