In this video piano lesson, I cover how to play triads and inversions along with fingering in the right hand. We apply that knowledge to playing an arrangement of the first few bars of "Let It Be" by John Lennon and Paul McCartney of The Beatles.

  • hey mario, just to let u know i linked your video on my site as "video of the day" =)

    it's on thepianocian . c o m

  • Hey pianocian: Thanks for letting me know that you linked and featuring me as your video of the day!

  • Thanks!! Your great!! Only if I could play the left hand. My keyboard is to small =(. I'll get back to you when I get my piano.

  • RyanKraner: Instead of playing octaves, you can substitute them with single notes instead.

  • this is really good, the graphics help A LOT! I think it would be better though if you didn't blank the screen when changing the graphic of the root for the inversions. If the root faded into the inversion, it would be easier to see the common notes. I'm not sure if i made myself clear. Anyway, keep up the good work! A lot of people on youtube know their stuff but can't teach well.

  • stereo123: I actually understand what you're saying. It's a new bit of software that I'm playing with that allows me to display what I'm playing in real time. So in the future, I could probably do a bit of editing to make the connection between the chords a little clearer.

  • Real good lesson. Use of the technology was perfect.

  • Thanks Mario! Even though I already knew this info, I really liked the way you pulled it all together in a neat, memorable little lesson. I'll work on that little exercise till my inversions are super smooth.
