In modern gang-controlled L.A., it's survival of the fittest.

The fittest gang survives.

And there are no rules.

Men, as well as women, compete viciously for profitable jobs - and always with disastrous results.

Sent out on a relatively simple 'pick-up job' by their bosses one day, unknowingly to each other, two rival gangs are headed for a collision.

The only thing is, with their own lives at stake from their bosses, the gangsters must deliver the goods.

So when they meet at the location, there is no backing out.

Only problem is, they have to get the package from 'tough-guy Pete'

And 'tough guy Pete' ain't giving it up.

Somebody's gonna die.

Somebody's gonna get the package.

Only question is, who?

And FYI, it's ignorant to claim everyone could live happily without gangsters. Even the most basic look into the subject will tell you many did a lot of good for their communities, particularly with some of the lower echelons of society, where a lot of them came from in the first place. Gangsters helped them and provided for them when their own countries and governments didn't. It's easy for you to sit back, be judgemental and say YOU don't need them, but it's foolish to say no-one does.

Don't be stupid man, Scorsese's just a film director, depicting a different type of life that your average person never sees. Nowhere does he say that people should follow the same lives as those in a lot of his films, and if anyone does, then it's on their heads, not his. Cinema would be boring as Hell if it was all about "decent, hardworking people".

One of the things I laugh at about American 'culture' is their love of criminality. Scorcese is a cock sucker for criminals. He more than anyone has elevated low life pieces of shit.

Society is made of: farmers, teachers, sceintists, mathematicians, engineers, doctors, nurses, fire-fighters, tradesmen and women, factory workers, mothers, fathers and all manner of decent, hardworking people.

Gangsters, like stock market traders, are parasites. We could all live happily without those shitbags.
