This Morning's sound desk decides to crash, leaving all sorts of weird and wonderful audio feeds being broadcast, so they goto a break. If only the break went to air like they wanted.

  • itv is the home to live transmission so at some point there is bound to be some teething problems such as sound or vision errors. Dont forget the london studios transmits gmtv live. Then an hour after it finishes, this morning goes live, follwed by loose women. 1 studio, 1 channel, with 6 1/2 hours of live television...what more can you ask for?

  • GMTV, This Morning and Loose Women come from their own studios and galleries inside The London Studios, so the output of each are completely seperate from one another. In fact This Morning comes from its own building located next to the main Kent House tower building.

  • lol so their sound desk crashes, but they can still put some music up :L

  • The sound desk in This Morning's gallery crashed. The music was played from the ITV1 Network Transmission Centre.

  • When the This Morning graphic is shown, you can hear that the female presenter is pissed. :D

But why do they show the ITV1 graphic? I thought that This Morning was a GMTV program? (Sorry, I'm a foreigner.)

  • No, This Morning is not a GMTV programme. It's shown immediately after GMTV finishes, until the lunchtime news.

  • i bet that man gets bored of saying "Welcome to ITV one, we are currently having some techincal difiuciltys with This Moring an dwe will hopefully return to the program as soon as we possibly can"

What happens if its broke for an hour?! ahah.

  • Technical faults in British TV are extremely rare.

There is a legal cap on how much advertising a broadcaster can output per hour, so when there is a technical fault, they can't just switch to adverts and pretend it's a normal ad break while they fix the problem.

Because of this, they have to cut to a static title screen or something, which loses them a hell of a lot of ratings, and thus, money. They can't afford to have technical issues.

  • "We hope to return to this morning as soon as possible"

Must have felt like time stood still at ITV1 until they fixed the fault.... No wonder the sun didn't come up in time!

  • This the problem with Digital Sound desks, analouge sound desks would not have this problem

  • Music. I like it.

  • the sound sounds like fap

  • @tomogh the desks aren't the same :P

  • music to fill the break! excellent!

  • The sounds down but the voice is not wow

  • I remember that and was watching it when it crashed! I love the breakdown music and thanks to the person who said what it was here earlier on his post! I love tv music like that!!!

  • Scofield looked a bit pissed off when they went for the commercial break. LOL.

I would have thought it better for them to put a caption up telling people they were having a fault, rather than the continuity announcer having to repeat himself every 15-20 seconds.

  • @CCowell125 i really wish there were more.. Oops theres one on BBC Two now!
