I've never heard this before, but I like it. I do recall some of Octavian's other songs from their chart time. The band is obviously '70s but with a high degree of '60s pop sensibility (and that's a Good Thing).
@hazelmay64 I went through the same experience with a song from the 70s. I even went to used record stores and humiliated myself by trying to sing a song I could barely remember lol. But I found it on the Web. Now it's on most of my playlists. Isn't it a great feeling to rediscover our youth? The song was 'Carolina Caroline' by Jonathan Edwards. This reply box won't allow me to post the link, but it's on YouTube now.
The lead singer John Pulkkinen, went on to work for MCA records as John Alexander and he signed up Alanis Morissette. He brought her to LA where she made Jagged Little Pill. Now he works for ASCAP. Octavian reunited for a christmas show on CFRA radio a couple of years ago. He was also my teacher at Pinecrest School in 1971-72. Great song, though I don't know why they added that string part at the end of the song. They also had a number of great songs, like Can't Help Myself for loving You
I have been looking for this song for ages. Seriously. Couldn't find it. Couldn't remember the name of the band. Thank you thank you thank you for uploading it. I am soooooo ecstatic to find it again!
