Painting manes [PART ONE]

Hello everyone!
This is a painting tutorial for manes... which could be applied to tails and real hair!
THIS IS ONLY PART ONE there is one or two more parts to come =)
The process is sped up only in some parts. Other more informative areas are slowed down. The process is sped up because otherwise it would be over an hour long =( A miniature movie! haha

Anyways! I hope I have helped, I am very sorry for the quality. I don't show my brush settings because the quality is really bad, so I will create a higher quality image and upload it to deviantart.

I would like to point out that this is a collab with my friend Adah =)

what version of PS do u have? I have PS7 and it can have many limits to what u do! i want CS2 or 3 SOOO BADLY!!! but i cant afford it!

Hi, it's influenced-graphics on deviantART. I just recently bought a Bamboo Pen Tablet. I have a feeling this will help me A LOT! Don't be sorry that you restarted the forelock a few times... I restart the ENTIRE manipulation sometimes, lol.

Yay tablets are so fun!

I have a bamboo fun, and I use the 'pen.' In my opinion the tablets with pens would be easier as you are actually 'drawing.' So yeah, good luck on your choice!

Thanks for posting this! It's great, I'll definitely be using it as a reference. And hopefully I'll be able to draw manes and tails once I go get my tablet today! Though I do have one question - when you manip, do you actually use the touch part of the tablet? I'm debating getting a pen & touch, or just a pen.
