Drake Mabry, Bamboo clarinets.mov

The film maker Philippe Auliac stopped by with his family and filmed me playing short improvisations on some of my bamboo clarinets. I make my instruments with bamboo from China and have seven instruments from sopranino to contrabass. Each instrument is made from only one piece of bamboo and I use the end of the piece of bamboo as the mouthpiece. I often play with improvisational and contemporary music ensembles or in solo or duo recitals.
