The head hitboxes are THIS big and I still can't head the head that consistently?
I really am awful.

I see I can use this info to snipe on this type of box

0:26 The Engineer has balls of steel and is therefore immune to crotch shots.

And that's why its so hard to headshot a demoman when he's not facing you... Cuz hes black

Actually, the huntsman uses projectile hitboxes. These are NOT the ones you see in the video, picture it more like this: Your entire character is enclosed inside a huge box, making no difference between any parts, and if the arrow hits any part of it at any time, even if you unintentionally move into the shaft of the arrow with the corner of your box, it counts as a hit. And if hits the top portion, it also counts as headshot. This also happens with rockets, but is less noticeable.

@GoldenSodaXbox possibly because the tank explodes and kill him
maybe

No wonder I can't get near a huntsman sniper as a pyro without getting headshotted. How could you miss?

Random Class Hitbox. Wtf?
@the1337pwnag3 it has more to do with the fact that essential physics calculations such as hit detection happen on the server to ensure that all clients show the same levels of health for a given player. This means you can think you missed them by a bit but if you or the serveer are laging then thee server may show them being a few feet behind where you see them and that's what matters with hit detection.

So, if you hit the right leg, the models will still show nutshot animation?
shenaniganster 1 year ago
@shenaniganster, the decals such as bloodsplater and bulletholes are done client side so they show up wherever you shoot them regardless of hitboxes. the hitboxes themselves are calculated on the server so that damage calculation is uniform across the board

Red is critical
skoolrox123 1 year ago
@skoolrox123, its not always critical. the colors represent differnt areas of the model and each hitbox is asighned a number with the head hitbox being #1. its the weapon code the determines the cirticals themselves, and if a scoped sniper registers a hit on hitbox #1 its a crit but the same would not be true for a shotgun.
