I heard that the head of PETA has a condition (can't remember what exactly) and the treatment for it is something developed with animal testing

IMO animal testing should be limited to medical research, and be done as little and as humanely as possible. Cosmetic tests should be banned.

I hope science will find alternative methods soon. But until then we'll need animal testing, unfortunately.

Animal rights activists who use intimidation and violence, threaten people, damage property and cause environmental damage by releasing exotic lab-animals in nature, are terrorists.Their fanaticism turned good intentions into evil deeds. Sad.

@62netty Indeed, I am totally against using animals for anything other than medical research. To me it's the only field which warrants testing on another animal.

i completely agree animals have rights to a certain degree but there needs to be a line drawn in the sand to threaten violence against other humans just to save animals is disgusting, these people are pretentious fucking idiots id like to see them try stop some hunters

Con't: As for this group of people, yeah, again using criminal means and harassment is not going to bring legitimacy to their side. At the same time, these people typically believe that what they are doing is right and are just engaging in "civil disobedience" in order to give rights to animals. While I think animals should have rights, the definition of "rights" can be debated and is a moral issue. The tactics they are using are just dispicable.

So, I really feel like putting these chemicals in animals is horrible, but I do acknowledge that it has advanced research for humans. So I am not going to be intellectually dishonest: I admit that there is a see-saw of a moral delema here that I personally cannot claim an answer to. I don't want to hurt animals, but I also have benefited from animal testing...At this point I hope that we have reached a point where testing on animals can be decreased...

WOW I am an animal rights advocate, but the tactics that these groups have used are COMPLETELY unacceptable and it's embarrassing to be lumped together with them. Disgusting. But as far as animal testing is concerned, I prefer the term "animal research." I do acknowledge and appreciate the advancements due to animal testing, but sometimes even apes are forced to take toxic chemicals in order to advance "science". Their site reminds me of the anti-abortion sites. an abortion doctor is murdered by one of their supporters and they deny it had anything to do with them posting full information and photos of the doctor on the site.

The disclaimer is meaningless, they are promoting the use of violence and giving people targets
