My kids growing up in Tx this is a tradition. Parang for them to keep the culture. They once thought I was crazy but now it's just not the same without it. Thanks to your Father. ( I'm still a Cowboy fan )

As a child growing up in Wisconsin, I grew up listening to the Calypso Christmas album by the Depaur Chorus. Wonderful music and I have to believe at least part of the inspiration for this particular song. I think many people would be surprised to know that Calypso Noel was actually written by a white gentleman from Wisconsin who also happened to be my father.

man this sure does bring back childhood memories .I do agree living here in Canada Christmas cannot compare to home in St. Vincent, oh maaaan how I miss these song and the feeling of the Christmas season.`

I remember every Christmas this video would be on heavy rotation on TTT in Trinidad. Beckett with his full khaki colored bell-bottom outfit and 70's camera work and lighting is a cherished memory of my childhood Christmases.

Don't know why this song should come to my mind in the middle of August, on a Monday when I should be concentrating on this conference call I'm on! But it is one of my fav Christmas songs! Always brings back the memories of childhood Christmas! Thanks for posting this - I love this song! You couldn't go thru Christmas in the islands (or at least in Grenada) without hearing this song over and over and over...
