Forest Kittens

I met these two kittens at a trailhead in southwest Oregon, somewhere in the lower Applegate watershed. I tried, for almost an hour, to tame them using my peanut butter and canned salmon. When I began, they wouldn't get within thirty feet of me, and when I had to give up to go make camp, they wouldn't get within five feet of me. They loved the food though.

I returned the next morning to find not the two forest kittens, but a big bear turd in their place. Draw your own conclusions.
