  • The Cherokee and the rest of the Five Civilized Tribes were essentially being punished for fighting with the Confederacy. They all lost land to the Allotment System.

    I'm sick of the fact that a lot of First Nations people have to live in sub-standard housing, and I feel sick that they themselves feel powerless.

  • The reservation system was designed specifically to work like this. It's psychological genocide. So are "Projects" in urban areas; they were originally designed as social experiments in Nazi Germany.

    I actually am Canadian, and the gov. is/has finally taken some steps to correct some of the injustices that these poor people and their families have suffered through.
