Ich bitte um Verzeihung falls der Ausdruck "dazu gedacht" verwirrend erscheint. Ich meinte damit sicher nicht "bewusst so gestaltet" (deswegen erwähnte ich deutlich, dass diese Mythen seit tausenden von Jahren unverändert geblieben sind. Ich stellte mir keine Höhlenmenschen vor, die das alles geplant und durch die Generationen weitergegeben haben!) - Ich meinte mit "dazu gedacht" dasselbe wie wenn Biologen sagen, dass Backenzähne "dazu gedacht" sind Nahrung zu zermalmen, nicht im Sinne von "bewusst so entworfen", sondern dass sie sich so entwickelt haben...

I'd argue that SOME heroic fantasies are like that. But in the end, nothing is truly stopping anyone from, other than themselves. Whoever said being a real life hero is easy?

@favfly Truth almost always has an ironic twist I have found. The temptation to dismiss it in favour of something more convenient. Almost as if it is all be design... but that's just illogical therefore it can't possibly be true.

It's ironic, however, that in deconstructing heroic myths, you've taken on the mantle of one of its chief archetypes; the mentor; "some old dude" that teaches us the way to the elixir of truth and freedom.
