Troy was great & I don't want to besmirch his wonderful career in any way, but Harold laid the road for him and all other modern day "forecasters". RIP Harold Taft aka "The World's Greatest Weatherman".

He did weather for KTRK before WFAA. He will be missed by many.

Words can not express how much I miss him with his bowtie. he's gotten us through tornado's, flooding, and even the ice storms. He was the first guy we watched when we moved to Texas.
I remember it vividly. We were watching him because there were flood waters coming into the new house. I miss Mr. Dungan ):

Ha ha! Janet wants him out of the house every afternoon! Say, isn't that when the pool boy comes? :D
I lived in the Dallas area for 22 years and left Texas in 2000, but I have fond memories of Troy Dungan. Loved the bow tie. It did seem that the temps were unusually low this day. My birthday is July 19 and it was almost always 100+ on my b-day and I definitely remember 1980! OMG!
He mentioned Chip Moody, another one of my TV news faves. That poor man went to his grave a piece at a time.
