From the video titled "The Dubliners' Dublin" which is like a documentary with Ronnie taking viewers on a tour of his favourite watering holes, and meeting up with the lads for a few songs.

The song "Dublin In The Rare Old Times" was written by Pete St. John, who also wrote "Fields Of Athenry".

Iam from Germany but when I hear irish music, with a pint of Guiness in my hands, my eyes keep getting wet and Iam not sure if my ancestors weren't Irish!

I love the moment at the end, when he sings with that woman on the street. That was the magic of Dubliners music and this is the magic of folk music everywhere. You can be a master at singing and songwriting, as Ronnie was, but in the end - folk music comes from the regular people and it is them who keep it alive. The music from everyone to everyone, a nation's wisdom enclosed in a song.

Ronnie had a daugher in 1964 when he was 30 and a son in 1969 when he was 35.

She has a daughter born in 1989 when she was 25

He has four children two born in the 90s and two in the 2000s.

So ronnie had two children and five grandchildren, lucky people.

    R.i.p Ronnie 1934-2008.

I do the same at a bar/billiards place, our so called "Irish Pubs" are disgraceful only the names are Irish...

I love the amazing landscapes here in America and the way it once was but I have a yearning for Ireland to see where my family comes from an still lives(Meath)

I just hope there is still a lot of our rich culture still or when I can finally make it over! Slán agaibh
