Well WolfytheWolf5667's canon isn't the complett canon ...
Revan left into the unknown regions and let Canderous find the helm of Mandalore so that Canderous became the new Mandalore his task was to find the other Mandalorian Clan's because Revan planned that the Republic and the Mandalorian fight together against the "True Sith".
At the end Revan was redempted !

The light side. Revan killed Malak and redempted himself, then went with the Exile into deep space. Canonly, Revan is a male, and the Exile is a female. Nihilius got his power when Revan activated (as seen in the new MMO timelines) the Mass Shadow Generator. Think of it as a Jedi version of a nuclear bomb. Anyway, Revan may return with a Mandalorian army as he stated to the new Mandalore Canderous Ordo to await his return. Therefore, Revan is not truly redempted.

In my opinion, revan is THE greatest ever sith lord. if he was to fight nihilus, sion, vader, maul, kreia or even the emperor, revan would completely destroy all of them
