My father was a pilot in the USAF in Korea and was assigned to an Air-Sea Rescue sqdn. very close to Seoul during the war. He helped a number of Korean orphans along with other men in his unit. One of the men communicated with my Dad for the rest of his life...

@pantallica51 Might not be Col. Hess's fault. When PR gets hold of a story and turns it into something they want people to believe, It can be an easier task trying to keep the sun from coming up in the east than getting the truth out over PR's story. Just remember what they did with Pearl Harbor...the legend doesn't leave much room for truth.

You are 100% correct (and all these years I believed it) Shame when this film should have been about Lt Col Blaisdell. I know they twist the truth a bit in these movies but this one is unforgivable....thanks for the enlightenment..

This movie and the book it is adapted from is a big giant lie. Col Hess never did any of that stuff besides finding a place for the Orphans to stay in Cheju island. It was actually all of Lt Col Blaisdell. He's the one that headed operation kiddy car airlift. while Lt Col Hess donated all money to the orphanage it is still a tragedy to see someone take credit for such a selfless act for something they did not do. Obviously Col Hess was not following the Air Force core value of integrity first.

@ParkJongBum my sergeant major instructor in the British Army had served with the Gloucester Regiment at Imjin "The Glorious Glosters" and when wounded was a prisoner of war for 2 years being tortured and denied medical treatments. He was eventually repatriated as "useless for further service as a a soldier, they did not allow for the courage and determination of the man. He recovered and joined the SAS becoming one of their greatest legends Warrant Officer Don "Lofty" Large, sadly died 2006

superbe film de guerre la premiere fois que l ai vu en salle c etait en 1958 il m avait beaucoup plut les acteurs sont super surtout rock hudson qui malheuresement nous a quitter trop tot j ai eu la joie de retrouver ce film en dvd 50 ans plus tard
