Crystal Set

What goes on just above the broadcast band in the early hours(1850khz),Tom VK2TB a couple of hundred km's away (the strongest distant amateur station I have ever heard on a crystal set......even beating the broadcasters!!!) and Tony VK2XAJ (15km away).Using the local oscillator from a radio shack receiver to resolve the SSB signals(1400khz + 450khz = 1850khz) The HI-FI quality one gets from a crytal set is excellent even from an SSB signal.(I wish they were on AM...............After many hours of changing things around under much changed reception conditions this was the best design I have come up with yet (3 bands 250Khz to 2.5 Mhz) Graeme VK2FPQ)
