  • Nice run but either that mach 1 driver isnt trying or thats not a mach 1. Mines an auto and keeps up with ls1s from a roll. So it should beat that lt1. Both sweet rides tho.

  • @angeflr Its a real Mach 1 with a CAI, 3.73 gears, exhaust and a tune. My car had headers, 3" catted-y, and a catback.. I was stilll running the paper filter and air box on 2.73 gears at the time.

  • The mach 1 held in there. I have to agree they are very fast, especially with a 5 speed. The z28 is nice too, though.

  • A stock Mach 1 will run low 13's if its a 5 spd (auto machs shift at 5800 rpm vs rev-limiter at 6850 with a 5 spd), how is that not impressive? No you do not pull on Machs with your stock LT1 Firehawk... Your down 40 hp/ 10 tq at the flywheel. Either your not racing Machs or your lieing. A Mach 1 has an alluminum block and heads with a forged crank, DOHC's and 32 valves along with 3.55 rear gears compared to your 2.73's... Wanna try again???

  • and then a big block chevelle comes along and smokes both of them

  • @04COMach1 Yeah, i think that if it was a stock Mach 1, i'd give it a run, but if it has full boltons then im done.

I mean..... its 32 valves vs 16 valves

  • @bulldog190 It really depends on how well of a drag racer you are. I would expect a 13.00 from myself( I am just an average driver lol, I dont have the driver mod apparently.) I will say that if you have full bolt on on a Mach and a good dyno tune it will be about mid 12 second car. I know a guy that runs consistant 12.3's with 4.10's, intake, offroad x pipe, cat back, DR's, STS, and an SCT tune. Now he has the driver mod lol.

  • @04COMach1 What if the Mach has the same mods?

  • @bulldog190 I really dont streat race but I would say your about as fast if not faster than a stock Mach 1 with those mods, mainly the 3.73's. I ran a 13.61 @106.41 with a 2.33 60 ft time (cry) and a clutch that was going out... I expect about a 13.00 now with my new clutch but Mach 1's are underated and MM&FF tested an 03 to 13.1 @ 105 mph bone stock. I have full exhaust, intake, 285 rear tires. Hopefully that answeres your question.

  • @04COMach1 Im a svt guy first off, my dad has a pullied GT500,

but my car happened to be a bolt on 94 LT1 Z. ive got cold air, full exhaust, and 3:73s........how would my car do to a bolt on Mach with the same mods?

Just wondering because i plan on getting a Mach, and my Z seems pretty quick for just a bolt on LT1

  • @Scoutn757 I dont understand? Are you saying that my numbers are wrong or....?

PWR for Mach 1 is 0.09235 HP/lb. PWR for an LT1 is 0.08280 HP/lb. PWR for LS1 is 0.08868 so if you can read then you can see that the underated Mach 1 from 305 to 320 HP has more available HP per pound of the cars total weight. 1996 Camaor Z28 ran a 14.2, 1998 Camaro Z28 ran a 13.7, and 2003 Mach 1 13.2 based on my research... I know for a fact that MM&FF ran a 13.13 @ 105 mph in a factory 2003 Mach 1.

  • @04COMach1 Figure up your power/weight ratios. After that look at the rear end gearing AND the individual gear ratios. Retype your statement
