I need to add more; this is a celebration of the music, heartfelt and uplifting. Kleiber sees only the good in this, at the same time creating the edge and tension Beethoven clearly intended. This rendition is pure inspiration and no other conductors have, to date, recreated the atmosphere so wonderfully as Kleiber and this orchestra.

This is the definitive version; Karajan is plastic and mechanical, overly dramatic and self indulgent. Kleiber shapes and flows so instinctively, letting the melodies and parts imperceptible in other versions, spell out wonderful depths and simplicities in Beethoven's masterful writing. This is pure conducting genius.

Mesmerizing. Divine.

I am still watching. I think this version is superb. I feel that CK's relationship with this orchestra gives him, and us, a very special feeling which is so vital and joyful, that I just cannot let it go....
I do hope more people discover this versio. It is quite amazing. It is quite different from the Amsterdam one. It is fantastic. There are some deltails that are so exppressive, not seen in the other, just fantastic.
