Produced as an employee orientation video in 1992, this corporate profile survives as a testament to the efforts of the nation's 4th largest public utility to transition its workforce into the new, deregulated era of electric power generation and transmission. Created from audiotaped interviews with a broad range of real employees and then filmed to the edited audio track, the viewer can see a portrait of a key American industry at the cusp of major changes. From coal and gas to nuclear; from regulated monopoly to deregulated competitive, from ethnic, males to a diverse workforce. Here is a portrait of how an American big business changed in the 1990s. Don't miss the nuclear control room training for a "scram" shutdown. Directed by George Avgerakis; John Lynch and Robbie Anderson, camera.
