This is so sad :( I'm so sorry. I just got a new snake and would hate to see her like this. Does this disease only effect boas and pythons?

it takes over an a hour for the blood cells to crystallize and cell membranes to rupture.. the snake is LONG DEAD before that.. after about 5 min in the winter snow or 10 min in a freezer packed in ice, the snakes heart stops beating all together.. the animal will lye dormant and unconscious after about 2 min..
as sad as this reality is.. it is just that.. REALITY!

@philli1100 I learned a lot from that tragedy and now own 24 happy and healthy animals. It's sad you don't think people deserve a second chance. I love each and every one of my animals with all my heart. They are cared for every day and it shows in their temperament. You can be pissed off all you want. If my experience can stop just one person from making the same mistakes I did, then you're wrong; I did educate someone. At the very least, I educated myself. Being vulgar doesn't make you right.

@philli1100 To put your mind at ease, this snake was put to sleep the day after the video was made...2 years ago. I am well aware of how important quarantine is... now. It won't bring him back and neither will you posting rude stuff below the video I made hoping to educate others.

IBD only effects boids (pythons and boas). This was paramyxovirus which can effect all snakes. Crypto and staph can also effect all snakes and can easily be spread if precautions are not taken. I cannot stress enough the importance of quarantine. Enjoy your new per! :-)
