@willyhighpockets ah, no fair, lucky...my brother was mad cuz dad wouldnt take him into van to see it...and he didnt drive yet....any momento's of the concert? or pics? or ?
@bandcouver got to love the past!!! no plastic back then only metal horn drivers with a max peak of 25 watts each, most shows were on a 100 volt line system, no 8 ohm, imagine the beatles now ???? with in ears monitors etc, it just would not be the same, and Paul and John singing with a sm58! bring back the 60's........
I was at this concert. It was in Empire Stadium. They had clusters of horns on either side of the stage. This had to be a direct mike recording because there was a 30 minute riot going on while they played and the sound was barely audible through the deafening shrill of the mass scream.
Apparently John got a jelly bean in the mouth , timely enough, when he sang "cause I couldn't stand the pa--!"
Also the fact that real PA systems and monitors didn't exist back in 1964, made performing live music a challenge to say the least. The Beatles vocals were fed through the plastic speakers around the stadium. Yep, the ones they announced football games through. They only had their 3 big Vox amps on stage for their instruments. Talk about chaotic. hahahaha
