Actors Patti LuPone and Michael Cerveris discuss their roles in the powerful Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim's SWEENY TODD.
Theater Talk is a series devoted to the world of the stage. It began on New York television in 1993 and is co-hosted by Michael Riedel (Broadway columnist for the New York Post) and series producer Susan Haskins.
The program is one of the few independent productions on PBS and now airs weekly on Thirteen/WNET in New York and WGBH in Boston. Now, CUNY TV offers New York City viewers additional opportunities to catch each week's show. (Of course, Theater Talk is no stranger to CUNY TV, since the show is taped here each week before its first airing on Thirteen/WNET.)
The series is produced by Theater Talk Productions, a not-for-profit corporation and is funded by contributions from private foundations and individuals, as well as The New York State Council on the Arts.

@cfronck Yeah, she's done Will and Grace and Ugly Betty, 30 Rock, she definitely seems to prefer comedy.
She'd be great on Law & Order SVU, either in a guest role or permanent
There's nothing she can't do IMO

@victoriaindigo Well, she said that she would, as long as it were a sitcom or another multi-camera series, where as "Life Goes On" was a single-camera dramatic series.

The amazing Patti LuPone, so in demand she has to turn down roles! I hope she will also do another TV role on a hit show like she did with Life Goes On.

Haha, I love how Patti tries to play off the "Into The Woods" question.
She was in negotiations for the role, however, so were other actresses.
For reasons that have never been revealed, she ultimately wasn't given the part, and her 'wanting to be Cinderella' had nothing to do with it.
Her Mrs. Lovett was *amazing* though. Talk about being robbed of a Tony.
