Carrie didn't "try to make it work" with Aidan. She couldn't even give him the one thing he asked for-to stay away from Big. She continued to rub it in his face even going so far as to invite him to HIS country house. Carrie just wants what she wants when she wants it. The moment she wanted Aidan back, she wanted him back. When she wanted Big back, she wanted him back. She and Big deserved one another...two selfish people.

Poor Aidan; of all of carrie's serious boyfriends, he was the best one; the truly perfect man for her and she treated him so shabbily; TWICE. Steve later told her Aidan stayed in his p.js for a month.

Aidan is lucky it didn't work out. He ended up marrying a wonderful woman with whom he had 3 super cute sons. Carrie does not want to have kids. She obviously does not want the responsibility. She just wants to collect shoes.
