I keep my taskbar on the side. It's the best way to have it. I also keep desktop icons on it as well as all of my drives. One-click easy access without having to minimize all my windows or go to the start menu. AND my window tabs are all the same size so they look very organized. :D Love it.

I tried that, but I'd rather have more screen width.
Auto-hiding the taskbar is better for me.
