This is not therawada buddhism. this is mahayana manthra chanting. monks in this video are therawada buddhist monks (Most are sri Lankans). therawada is real buddha teaching . therawada buddhism currently established sril anka, Thailand ,Myanmar '''.

Buddhism has no god or gods - only logic, reason and wisdom.
Worshipping external, imaginary forces (such as Gods) is totally opposite to what Buddhism teaches, and Buddhism has absolutely no concept or acceptance of a god or god's.
There has never been any one person called 'Buddha' - The Buddha means enlightened one, and all who chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo are Buddha's.

I am not really part of SGI any more or any other temple/Priest led group but I love this version of chant.

It does all that too, but there is a whole gosho on lessening the karmic effects. You must study.

@TheStevenVega I have been chanting for over 27 years and you know sometimes what I know is no matter what or I have done within suppose to be right or wrong with this practice, I personally know that just chanting for doesn't always resolve or fix everything one is struggling with. Sometimes the greatest gift to just practice for one's self when there nothing else left and to just hang on and to not quit chanting.
