Watch out. Washer's god visits people once - and gives them only one chance to be saved. Maybe Paul Washer is your last hope?

Quick! Get all your unsaved friends and play Paul Washer sermons to them. Before your lost friends stiffen their necks! They only have one chance to be saved (according to Washer).

Washer's god is lazy. He only tries to save a man once.

The quote you are listening to is by Paul Washer.

The quote is taken from his sermon with the title,
"God is Sovereign (Tharptown Baptist Church)".

The quote occurs 11 minutes 44 seconds
into the sermon.

Washer's sermon is dated: 3rd Feb 2009

DID THE APOSTLES OFFER THE GOSPEL?
Then let it be known to you, men, brothers, that through this One remission of sin is ANNOUNCED to you. (Acts 13:38)

How did the apostles spread abroad and report the gospel? The apostles *announced* it. They witnessed, proclaimed and preached the gospel, as this was the commission given to them from Christ. "Going into all the world, PREACH the gospel to all the creation." (Mark 16:15). "And you are WITNESSES of these things." (Luke 24:48). "Whatever you spoke in the ear in the secret rooms will be PROCLAIMED on the housetops." (Luke 12:3).

Were the apostles commanded to negotiate with their hearers, by "offering" an "opportunity" to "accept" the "terms" of the gospel? No, they were not to make merchandize of the souls of men. The apostles were not commanded to "offer" the gospel, as if the hearer should have to comply with conditions, in order to be saved. The gospel was simply proclaimed by the apostles, without conditions attached.

What did the apostles say? "We, on the other hand, preach Christ crucified." (1 Corinthians 1:23) "And we preach the gospel to you."(Acts 13:32) "I make known to you the gospel preached by me." (Galatians 1:11) It was preaching, declaring and making known that led people directly to the saving truth. You never find the apostles saying, "We offer to you the gospel ... we make an offer of Christ to you ... will you accept the offer of grace?" This free-offer "gospel" is another gospel, for it was not preached by the apostles. It is a false gospel of conditional salvation that leads men away from the saving truth, by making people think that they must do something under the notion of accepting terms, and complying with offers.

True preaching, however, signifies proclaiming and spreading abroad a set of facts, by telling it. Preaching the gospel is just declaring what the gospel is -- God's promise to save His people based on the atoning blood and imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ alone. When the apostles produced their infallible proofs that their message was true -- they commanded their hearers to repent -- and then left God to have mercy upon whom he would have mercy, and to harden whom he would harden. If men were not converted, the apostles were clear of their blood.

If a "preacher" moves a step beyond the apostles, and instead of leaving the people with the declared truth, proceeds over and above to give directions for conversion and rules of how to attain a saving interest in Christ, he has departed form the simplicity of the gospel. Anyone, no matter what his reputation -- Charles Spurgeon or George Whitefield-- who did not simply preach the gospel as the apostles did: he was accursed. As we have said before, and now I say again, If anyone preaches a gospel beside what you received, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:9)

  • Let's be honest, ChristnotDavid, Mr Washer is weighing in you conscience because of your sin, isn't it so? There's no justification without sanctification. That seems to bother a lot of carnal minds. Hence the Paul Washer-hate mongering.

  • My first reaction to your video is that it is very misleading, then I recognized your voice. You're that same dude that was trashing Paul Washer with backwards misleading videos last year. Your name was Andrew Bain or something like that. I'll give you this, you're great at taking Paul Washer's preaching out of context.

  • Now on to the person of this video. Before you thiJESUS.nk that our grace and mercy from God is a license to sin. YOU ARE WRONG.! Basically if you are willfully sinning and thinking that you can cuz of grace, I would start trembling before God if i were you. God will forgive, but what happens if you have this thinking and you do willfully sin and then you have a heart attack never to be able to ask for forgiveness. LIve life if it was your last second to breathe and be faithful to JESUS

  • @nunfonseca Very true. Alot of people dont like being told they are wrong. OR that they are still sinners. Pride has alot to do with it. BUT in the beginning of this video. when the guy actually starts talking after paul, PEOPLE nit pick everything preachers say and then say their WHOLE teaching is WRONG. WOW. Maybe people should start searching and loving God more than watching others and telling everyone Paul is wrong and they are right. or this religion is wrong and I AM RIGHT! Pride. GBY

  • @nunfonseca Very true. Alot of people dont like what preachers say that speak truth because they dont like being told they are sinners or they are wrong.

  • When I look for some good Paul Washer sermon jams, why is it people are trying to trash him? First of all,how about we stop distorting messages because you dont like him.You sound similar to the people that talked to Jesus, they didnt like Him, right.Guess what they did, they distorted Him,lied about Him,then crucified Him.Its not like(and this is a topic,I dont want to offend. I'm making a point) Joseph Smith.he lied, and wrote a new book.Paul preaches from the Bible, that book you claim to read.

  • paul washer is not a false prophet! He's a preacher of the true word of God and tells the truth that people don't want to hear because it reveals their darkness...they want to live a worldly and godly life...God said you can't have both

  • Paul doesn't say anything here about having a one chance either. WOW do you ever get it wrong.

Lord please have mercy on us all. I bet all of us discussing the theology of God and creation, including the most right and proper of us, are going to be sooo humbled one day. Scary thought.

Thank GOD for His love in Christ Jesus. Nothing shall separate us from His Love.

  • Paul washer is referring to the fact that a person who is truly saved will have one true conversion.

A person who seriously has had their life changed won't fall away from the faith. And the once chance Paul is talking about is our LIFE. We have this life to get to know God and get in his presence by studying his word (he dosen't mean presence as some new age thing) he means getting to know something better... aka in this case God.
