The music was composed by Max Steiner for the 1959 film A Summer Place. Steiner also wrote the music for King Kong (1932), "Tara's Theme" for Gone With the Wind (1939), and the music for Casablanca (1942). Percy Faith had a monster instrumental hit with the theme in 1960, going no.1 on the pop charts. Lyrics were later added to the music. Jack Nicholson as The Joker played the record in Batman (1989).

I haven't been on UTUBE for almost a month, and when I come back, find out that the majority of the songs I have marked as "favorites" now have commercials attached at the beginning of them? What's with that? I want to listen to the song, not have to listen to the commercial or go through the trouble of clicking on the 'skip ad' button. Geez. Don't we have enough commercials on tv we have to endure and NOW we have to listen to them at the beginning of songs?
