After driving thru a brief torrential downpour, we have been here several times. My favorite dishes include the Homemade Lasagna, Ruben Sandwich and Fried Haddock. Today, I tried something different. I ordered off the Specials Menu and took the Surf n' Turf which was 16 oz Rib Eye Steak and Lobster Casserole. My mother was with me and she had the full version of Lobster Casserole. It came with soup or salad (which today's was Italian Wedding Soup) and choice of potato. I love soup but opted to go with the salad. We both did. The salad was fresh, clean and crisp and the house dressing is to die for. Give me a loaf of fresh baked bread and a jar of that dressing & I'm happy! Our meals came shortly afterwards. Her Lobster Casserole was hot and slightly bubbling, filled with sweet, tasty lobster meat and buttered cracker crumbs. My steak was more like a 12 oz size rather than the 16 oz the menu reads and a bit over-cooked as I ordered it medium-rare. It was more like medium-well to well. However, the flavor was fantastic and it was still tender and easy to cut, so I did not mention anything. The accompanying Lobster Casserole was about 1/2 the size of the regular version, but very, very good. I was satisfied and really couldn't complain. Our French Fries looked and tasted like they were hand-cut. They were also hot and fresh. The owner/chef came out to see how things were and had a nice chat. As mentioned I didn't complain but mentioned how I loved his Ruben and Lasagna and he was very passionate of his Lasagna the way he was talking and this sent a massage to me. As a former chef of 36 years I know when a chef is proud of his food. We will definitley come back again and already deciding what to eat next time as their menu selections are incredible. Decent prices and great food and very friendly service!
