Chris Stewart Boarding Hit on Niklas Kronwall - Nov 15th 2011 (HD Multiview)

St. Louis Blues forward Chris Stewart had a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday morning for his hit from behind during Tuesday's win over the Detroit Red Wings.

The play happened with 8:46 left in the first period as Stewart was chasing the puck and pushed Red Wings forward Niklas Kronwall into the boards. Kronwall left the game and did return for the start of the second period.

Stewart was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct for checking from behind.

After the game, Kronwall told the media that he was checked for a concussion and doesn't have one.

"I think I got lucky there," Kronwall told reporters after the game. "I think it could have ended a lot worse."

Stewart, who goes into the hearing as a first-time offender, did not speak to the media after the game.

That hit couldve broken his neck or damaged his vertebrae or something like that...a potential career ender. Faul to samozřejmě byl. Ale pokud Kronwall sestřeluje nepřipravený hráče, musí toto zákonitě čekat. Jistě, řadu hitů má tvrdých, ale čistých. Pokud ale při nich zraňuje hráče, kteří jsou pak s otřesy mozky vyřazeni, nemůžu to považovat za čistý. Ať se to někomu líbí nebo ne.
