punishing gays was necessary in old times because it was essential everyone bred, so religion made a law and people took it to far, and now we know its genetic not willful devience.
Although man made religion, so he made right and wrong with it, that must have come from some pre religious beliefs, but not actually defined until religion and it must have been gradual as man evolved away from ape, but also religion evolved with man! what came 1st chicken or egg?

@tpvalley No I don't. There had to be a sense of right and wrong before organized religion. I don't think the human race would have made it that far if there wasn't. I agree that a good religious person will respect everyone equally,but not because of religion, but because of a decent human nature. I only say that because most religions lay out laws that persecute certain people. So if religion was the only source of right and wrong, we would still be killing homosexuals and adulterous women.
