P.S. I'm not in anyway affiliated with Canonical, and I am not an avid Ubuntu fanboy...but I do feel that this operating system has the support and the user base to make waves in the consumer market. I don't want to start any sort of "distro war" in the comments section; I use a myriad of distros and they are all fantastic at what they do best. I'm just putting this out there for people who have never seen/heard of Linux before. (Huh, I didn't actually mention it was Linux did I???) That's because "Linux" sounds to nerdy to me. ;-) Enjoy everybody...

@dakied Maybe you say that Linux is an Open source copy of OS X. But that is because you can make linux look any way you want. People have customized it to look just like a mac or even windows 7, but I choose my Own custom themes.

@dakied Dude you sound like some crazed Apple fanboy. Ubuntu didn't copy shit from OS X. I would say it's more secure over OS X. Google pwn2own. Also Linux has their own version of itunes which works with any ipod.

Great for newcomers to linux. But very buggy and slow. If you try to do more serious configuration you can have very big troubles. The same is about Linux Mint, who is even worse.

I personally am a Windows guy because I like the aesthetics (of 7) and also the do-it-yourself sort of feel. I strongly dislike OS (iOS is fine) because it looks drab and is also less efficient. Ubuntu looks efficient, but not enormously aesthetic.
